Welcome to Thoughts and Ponderings on God. The purpose of these short inspirations is to encourage deeper meditation and contemplation on the Scriptures. It is our hope that you will find spiritual nourishment for your soul and that in so doing, you will draw closer to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

"Call to Me (the Lord), and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know." Jer 33:3

Proverbs 11:14 - Who's in charge?

"For lack of guidance a nation falls, but many advisers make a victory sure."

Scripture has an incredible amount of information for good leadership, but it's useless unless the leaders have the mind and heart of God.  The books of 1 & 2 Kings are crammed full of all the kings of Israel and Judah;  every king is named and Scripture states whether he did right in the eyes of the Lord, or rejected God and followed the practices of pagan nations.  In reading the accounts of each king, you see whether the nation of Israel and Judah prospered or was overrun by their enemies.   The spiritual condition of the king and subsequently the nation determined their natural state.  That was God's promise then and it is God's promise now.  Nothing has changed.

If you look back over American history, you will see very clearly when the hand of God was upon the land.  Our nation was established on biblical principles and flourished until we began removing God from our public lives and began to re-instate the "high places" of pagan worship: the gods of materialism, self-centeredness, greed, sexual perversity, and oh so much more.  Our government officials have declared that God has no place in our nation and it's capital, and we have thus become a stench in the nostrils of the world's nations.  We are no longer leaders in world charity, but tied for 5th place with Switzerland.  We are slipping and sliding into a morass that seems to have no bottom and the harder our leaders work at getting us out, the deeper we go, simply because they are looking to themselves for answers and not to the Lord God Almighty, the Creator of heaven, earth and America.

Without godly leaders, the wrong kind of people are honored and given high places of authority, thus ensuring corruptness and wickedness in government.  Wicked rulers have wicked officials, the people despair and society eventually erodes into a lawless state with little to no morals or ethics.  America is well on its way as every day another part of our God-heritage is taken away.

America is in a dark and terrible place spiritually and it is us, the people, who are America.   We are in terrible lack of spiritual guidance nationally.  We need many, many, many committed spiritual advisers who will by grace have the ear of our highest elected officials.   Only God Almighty can change hearts.  In that light, then, two questions need to be asked:

           (1)  What will it take to bring us back to a nation blessed by God?
           (2)  Am I willing to do what God asks of me to help bring this about?

Both questions need to be brought before the Throne of Grace and we need to wait upon the Lord for His express direction.  Some things will be private and personal and some will be public, but we must be willing to do whatever the Lord commands.  How we respond to God will show how committed we are to the Lord God Almighty.   Saints, the time has come.  Are we prepared for spiritual war?

"Lord Jesus, our nation is in deep trouble spiritually.  We have neglected Your Word and have not followed Your commands.  We have taken on the ways of the world to the fullest measure.  We are a hard-headed and stiff-necked people who up to this point have refused to humble themselves.  Have mercy, O God Almighty, on your people who are called by Your Name.   Forgive us our great sins and move in us that we may be a nation of God once again.   Terror fills me, but I must ask - do what it takes to bring this nation back to Your Heart.  It is better to be in the hands of a frightful and just God, then condemned for all eternity.  Forgive my lack of prayer for our spiritual and national leaders; make a way every day for me to have a time of prayer with you.  Use me, Lord, as an instrument in Your hand.  I am Yours.  Amen."
